As part of this year\u2019s conference of the British Association of Applied Linguistics<\/strong> at the Queen\u2019s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Melanie Fleischhacker<\/a> and Eva-Maria Graf<\/a> delivered a lecture titled Are Coaching Training Manuals Asking the \u201cRight\u201d Questions? \u2013 Linguistc Research on Questioning Practices in Coaching and its Practical Implications<\/em>. Within the framework of their presentation they especially dealt with helping professions and their tasks<\/strong>, primarily in connection with linguistics and conversation analysis and how change and effectiveness manifest and become perceivable. After shortly picking up on coaching in practice and research<\/strong>, in which they explained that questions are central to helping professions but still explored insufficiently, they introduced the DACH project Questioning Sequences in Coaching<\/strong> and presented the goals, typologies of questions and questioning sequences, as well es first results from the project teams in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
